ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Saturday that the government has decided not to accept the resignation of Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Syed Tehsin Anwar Shah.

While talking to reporters after chairing a meeting at the FIA headquarters, Malik said the government would obey the Supreme Court orders and Shah would provide assistance to the NICL investigation team.

The DG FIA had sent his resignation to the Interior Ministry after the apex court ordered him to work under his subordinate Zafar Qureshi in the multimillion NICL corruption scam probe.

He also announced to lift ban on recruitment in the FIA and said he would soon get a formal approval from the premier.
