LAHORE, Sept 24: Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) Executive Board has postponed its newly introduced Under-16 national championship, which was to be held in Lahore from Oct 1, after the Punjab government did not allow watering the synthetic field as a measure to stop the incubation of dengue virus.

The Executive Board, which met on Friday night, also gave the approval to stage the All Pakistan Madar-i-Millat Fatima Jinnah Women Tournament at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium, Karachi in the third or fourth week of November. The event will be organised by Sindh Women’s Hockey Association.

Meanwhile, the board approved the central contract for the players and asked national selection committee to provide the list of players for it. The board also empowered president PHF for the final selection of players in the list of the contracts.
