Death of four lion cubs

Published September 26, 2011

THIS refers to a recent media report about the mystery behind the death of four lion cubs.

An incident that took place on Aug 12 due to sheer negligence and apathy of the officials concerned is still being investigated despite constituting two inquiry teams and spending funds to get the medical reports. But nothing could yet be concluded.

It goes without saying that the above tragedy would remain an obscurity for the people who would, with the passage of time, forget it.

The aforementioned is just an unsolved case of animals’ death.

Here in Pakistan, people are being slaughtered like animals and a number of cases, with every passing day, are increasing.

Targeted killings, socio-political disruptions, blatant discrimination, corruption, kidnapping for ransom, deception and many other cases are included in the daily life of Pakistan and are still lying in abeyance to get justice.

If such grave issues could go unjustified, how people would expect the state not to be sadistic, towards animals or its countrymen.
