KHAIRPUR, Nov 11: The six families of the newest polio victims would be provided financial assistance for the medical treatment of their children from Zakat funds.
This was stated by the district Nazim, Nafisa Shah, at a meeting held here on Monday to discuss the fresh polio cases.
The meeting decided that the next anti-polio campaign, which is scheduled between Dec 17 and Dec 19, would be organised according to a map prepared at the union council level.
The map would contain every house and other premises situated within each union council limit to ensure vaccination of all families within that locality.
All union council Nazims, councillor, Tapedars, education supervisors, vaccinators and health officers would participate in the next anti-polio drive, the meeting decided.
It also decided to form a district monitoring team to supervise the drive, besides deciding to pay TA/DA allowance to vaccinators taking part in the drive.
RAIN: Low-lying areas in Khairpur city were inundated after the first rainfall of the season, which heralded the advent of the winter season.
The rain was followed by a power break down lasting from three to four hours in various areas of the district.
HELD: The Ranipur police have arrested Nadeeman, wife of Momauddin, a driver in the police department, who was killed near Daraz Sharif about a month ago. Her co-accused, Zafar Ali, is still at large.
