UPPER DIR, Sept 28: The top American officials have lost senses after their failures in Afghanistan and it is time for the government of Pakistan to say 'no more' to them, said Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hassan while talking to reporters here on Wednesday.

He said that the US should accept defeat in Afghanistan instead of trying to make Pakistan a scapegoat for its failures. He warned the US against making a mistake of staging any military action inside Pakistan, saying it would never be able to get out of here.

“The US has failed to deal with a small number of Mujahideen in Afghanistan during the last 10 years, how it could fight with the Pakistan army and Pakistani people,” the JI chief said while answering a reporter's question.

He repeated his fears that the US was planning to launch attacks inside Pakistan, but it would surely turn out a blunder for it. He said that the Haqqani network had bases inside Afghanistan and the America should tell the world why it failed to defeat it.

He asked the government to withdraw from the so-called war on terror alliance and stop the US from treating Pakistan as a slave country.

He asked the government to say “no more” to American mantra of “do more.” Mr Hassan said that his party would participate in the all parties conference (APC) convened by the prime minister to take stock of the situation after the US allegations and threats. However, he said that this conference should be made meaningful and its recommendations fully implemented.

JI leaders Prof Ibrahim and Shabbir Ahmad were also present on the occasion.

In Timergara, central nazim of Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) Abdul Rasheed said on Wednesday that activists of the students' organisation would stand by the Pakistan army and its government if the US resorted to any aggression against the country.

He was speaking to a gathering organised by the Lower Dir IJT in front of the press club. Earlier, the IJT's 'Tameer-i-Pakistan Road Caravan' was warmly received by the party's student activists in Chakdara, Talash and Timergara. JI leaders Maulana Asadullah, Muzaffar Syed, Timergara traders' president Anwaruddin, district bar president Mohammad Salim and students of various schools and colleges were also present on this occasion.

Mr Rasheed said that the three-day IJT national congregation at the Punjab University from Oct 15 would take up the issues of US threats and drone strikes besides discussing students' problems in the country.
