KARACHI, Sept 28: Two prominent outfits — district East Greens and district South Greens — set a date for the title clash by registering emphatic victories over their opponents in the pre-finals of NBP basketball championship at the Arambagh floodlit court on Tuesday evening.

District East Greens carved out 57-47 victory over District South Whites. Habibullah starred for the winners with a tall score of 23. He was supported by brother Saifullah 10.

Akmal Jamil and Talha Abid contributed 10 and 8 respectively for losers.

District South Greens inflicted 43-38 victory over district West Greens in a closely fought encounter.

Hammad Khan and Umer shone for winners with 15 and 11 while Tahir Ahmed scored 10 for losers.—Sports Correspondent
