KARACHI, Sept 29: Holders district South Greens carved out 43-34 victory over district East Greens in the final to retain NBP basketball Cup at the Arambagh floodlit court on Wednesday evening.

The winners led 20-17 at half time.

With the exception of second quarter, the winners, a combination of Neighbourhood Club, enjoyed slender lead over their opponents in the keenly contested clash.After leading 12-9 in the first quarter, the winners were held 8-8 by their opponents in the second.

After resumption, the winners kept their lead intact winning the third quarter 9-7 and the fourth 14-10.

Raja Zahid emerged leading scorer for the winners with 15. He was supported by Ali Ahmed 9 and Umer 8.

Talha Khan 12, Taha 10 and Arsalan 6 were the main scorers for losers.
