KARACHI, Oct 5: Two Pakistani teenagers — Syed Nofal Kaleem and Abdal Haider — triumphed in their opening round matches to move into quarter-finals of the ongoing Asian under-14 tennis championship at the National Tennis Centre in Bangladesh on Wednesday.
According to information reaching here, Nofal gave a 6-1, 6-0 drubbing to Rakib Tahmid of Bangladesh while Abdal was home by the identical score line of 6-1, 6-0 against local player Wamim Sadman.
Nofal now faces top seed Escobar Moises of the US, who is ranked eighth in Asia, while Abdal takes on Ali Kawsar of Bangladesh in last eight fixtures on Thursday.
