KARACHI, Oct 6: A ship, Siam Garner, with 27,420 tons of urea arrived at the Gwadar port on Wednesday and started unloading the fertiliser.
Another vessel, Blue Ocean, carrying 52,066 tons of urea is scheduled to arrive at the port on Monday. Both the shipments are in response to the tender awarded to a Geneva-based company in August by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan.
The TCP has imported around 610,000 tons of urea this year to meet the domestic demand.
Out of this around 220,000 tons were supplied by M/s SABIC under the Saudi Fund for Development credit facility, while the remaining 390,000 tons had been imported against the international tenders, says a press release.
