ISLAMABAD, Oct 7: Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shifa International Hospital (SIH) Dr Zaheer Ahmad died on Friday of brain hemorrhage.

A press release issued by the hospital on Friday said that Dr Zaheer was 63. Born in 1948, Dr Zaheer did his master's degree in Pharmacy from the Punjab University and then MD in Internal Medicine from the West Indies.

He conceived the idea of establishing a hospital of international standard in Pakistan. He remained president and CEO of SIH since its inception. Dr Zaheer was an ardent philanthropist and passionate social worker. He has left behind thousands of his friends and colleagues and those whom he rendered helping hand.—Staff Reporter
