PARACHINAR: Security forces killed six militants and wounded several others in northwestern Pakistan's Kurram tribal region, DawnNews reported on Wednesday.

The casualties occurred when security forces destroyed at least two suspected insurgent hideouts in central Kurram's Asteergate area.

Access to the tribal region is restricted and reports are difficult to independently verify.

Pakistan’s army has been fighting militants in the tribal region, parts of which have been cleared of militants.
