AFTER having back-to-back defeats at the hands of world champions Australia in a hockey tri-series and a brawl with India, the Pakistan hockey team’s win in the final has brought a wave of fresh air for sports lovers in Pakistan. When a cricket trio is being dished out a jail sentence for their ‘pious acts’ of spot-fixing in the UK that has brought shame to the nation, a win by the hockey team is a real consolation.

Congratulations to the hockey team for putting a good show in the final. I hope the morale of the green shirts will be high in  upcoming tournaments.
