KARACHI, Nov 30: There was an upset galore in the fifth DG Rangers Sindh National Junior Squash Championship as at least 12 outsiders including a woman, stormed into the next round at the Rangers Jahangir Khan squash complex here on Wednesday.

Two qualifiers — Ammad Farid and Tayyab Aslam, both from Punjab — were through to the men’s singles next round, as Faiza Zafar of Sindh also advanced in the women’s event.

Six players including three qualifiers fought their way into the boys’ under-17 second round, namely Asim Khan, Aqif Zaib, Babrak Khan, Ali Imran, Imam Sher Khan and Salman Zaib.

Qualifiers Hamza Bhatti and Uzair Rasheed surged into boys’ under-15 and under-11 next round while unseeded Ahmed Ali Khan stunned third seed Ismail Rauf in the boys’ under-13 category.
