ISLAMABAD: Twelve militants and one security personnel were killed during an ambush in Kurram Agency, DawnNews reported on Sunday.

Four security personnel and several militants were also injured during battle.

According to state sources, the battle took place at the Jogi area of Central Kurram Agency. One security personnel was killed and four were injured when militants opened fire. The security forces had retaliated and killed 12 militants and wounded several.

The security forces also destroyed two militant hideouts by aerial shelling.
