DADU, Nov 24: The district president, PPP, Dadu, and an MNA, Rafique Ahmed Jamali, has demanded that the work at the Gorakh Hill Station, Bado Jabal, and other sites including schools, hospitals, roads, drainage system, and water supply schemes be started, which had been stopped by the previous government.

He was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected office bearers of the Dadu Press Club on Saturday.

He said that he would raise the basic issues of Dadu district in the National Assembly.

He said that the agricultural system of the district had collapsed and the small growers had been facing hardships due to water shortage.

The Taluka Nazim, Dadu, Syed Zafar Ali Shah, said that encroachments had been removed in the Dadu city.

He said that the Taluka municipal administration had prepared a beautification plan for Dadu, which would be launched soon.

The EDO, Health, Dr Khadim Hussain Lakhair, said that the health department had opened 30 more government dispensaries in the remote areas of the district to serve the poor people.

Later, a music programme was held in which Manzoor Sakhirani, Quasar Marvi, and Khadim Sakhirani entertained the audience.

KIDNAPPING BID: The police and villagers foiled a kidnapping attempt and captured three kidnappers after an encounter with them near here on Thursday night.

Six armed bandits barged into the house of Mohammad Qasim Shahani in the Mounder village, 8km off here. They confined the inmates in a room, looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables and kidnapped Mohammad Mithal, 16, son of Qasim.

On receiving information, the villagers and a heavy contingent of the Mounder police chased the bandits and cordoned off the area, where the outlaws were hiding.

Following a two-hour exchange of fire, kidnapped teenager was recovered and three kidnappers, Mohammad Shahani, Mazhar and Zulfiqar, were arrested.

The police also recovered a rifle, a shot gun and six cartridges from the possession of the bandits and registered a case against Mohammad, Mazhar, Zulfiqar and others.
