LAKKI MARWAT, Jan 2: A local JUI-F leader and former nazim Haji Mohammad Azeem Khan was killed and his driver was seriously wounded when unidentified gunmen attacked his pickup near Naverkhel on Begukhel road here on Monday.

Haji Azeem was going to his village Begukhel along with driver Ikramullah and a guard.

When they reached near Naverkhel, unknown attackers opened fire killing the ex-nazim on the spot while his driver Ikram sustained serious bullet injures.

The attackers managed to flee on a motorbike. The body and injured driver were shifted to a local hospital. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. However, no arrests were made till filing of this report.
