KOHAT, Jan 4: Commissioner Kohat division Sahibzada Mohammad Anees has said that the sacrifices of police and security forces in war against terrorism in Hangu and Orakzai Agency have been recognised at international forums. He said that members of the police force had saved lives of many people by laying down their own lives. He said that despite small deficiencies in the police system the people should support police in their endeavours for maintaining peace.

The commissioner was speaking at a prize distribution ceremony arranged in Hangu for the policemen who performed security duties in tense situation during Muharram.

Kohat DIG Masood Afridi, political agent of Orakzai Agency Khushal Khan and DCO and DPO of Hangu were also present on the occasion.

The DIG said that the children of policemen, who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism, would be given share in police recruitment.

They would also be given the government’s package besides salary and other perks of their bread earners who laid down their lives for the people’s safety.

He said that the security situation in Kohat region could be improved with the mutual cooperation of police and people.

FOUR INJURED: Four people were injured when a vehicle of Fatimid Foundation hit the footpath in Darra Adamkhel on Wednesday.

The injured, all employees of the foundation, were identified as Abida Bibi, Tahira Bibi and Anwarul Haq, all belonging to Peshawar, and driver Mohammad Siddique of Charsadda. They were taken to KDA hospital.
