KARACHI, Jan 7: Fahim Ramzan opened the New Year on a winning note capturing the men’s singles crown in the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Talent Hunt tennis championship at the PN Physical Training and Sports Centre, Karsaz, on Saturday.
He ended the winning streak of Hyderabad’s talented Abdul Majeed in three-set thrilling duel 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
The ladies singles title went to Hania Naveed who beat Neha Khan 8-0 in the final which was reduced to pro-set by the organisers due to bad light.
Talha Zubair Surmawala pocketed juniors’ under-17 title by getting the better of Hassan Siddiqui 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
The under-15 singles semi-finals and final could not be played on the concluding day and will now be played on Sunday morning.
Results: Men’s singles: Semi-final: Fahim Ramzan bt Nazif Ahmed 6-1, 6-0.
Final: Fahim Ramzan bt Abdul Majeed (Hyderabad) 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
