ISLAMABAD: The terminated secretary defence Khalid Naeem Lodhi claims that he had ‘no clue’ regarding his termination prior to an ‘unofficial call’ that he received from an army personnel later in the day, on January 11, reported Azaz Syed from Dawn.

According to Dawn sources, Lodhi briefed the cabinet on the Survey of Pakistan Amendment Bill and left the PM Secretariat around 2:30 pm with no impression of being terminated from any cabinet member. He eventually received an official termination order from the government of Pakistan during the morning of January 12.

According to the sources, there was an air of sarcasm whilst the session was in progress yesterday and most of the cabinet members were expecting some significant political changes to take place. However, the session was quite uneventful and Lodhi heard about his termination from the call he received and media personnel, confirms the former secretary defence himself.

Lodhi is seeking legal assistance and is not ready to brief the media until he is clear on the issue.
