LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Wednesday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarians would not resign from the assemblies because it would pave way for the establishment to install a set-up of its own choice in the country.

Speaking to media representatives at the Punjab Assembly cafeteria, the PML-N leader claimed that the days were numbered for the present government which would soon meet its logical end.

PML-N would choose a democratic course to oust the PPP-led government, including long march and sit-ins, he said.

Sanaullah held Babar Awan responsible for the present situation of confrontation between the government and the judiciary.

He maintained that any possible action against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani by the apex court in NRO implementation case would not affect functioning of the parliament and the Punjab assembly.

“These are democratic institutions and in the democratic system people come and go, but it does not affect the functioning of the democratic institutions,” he added.

He hoped that the situation may improve with the intervention of PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan, who has been appointed counsel for the prime minister in contempt of court case. “Aitzaz is a wise person and he will hopefully give wise suggestions to the government,” he added.
