LAHORE: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the government will not give Mansoor Ijaz the same protocol as that for a US president, DawnNews reported on Sunday.

Gilani said that it seemed as if a viceroy is coming to Pakistan instead of Mansoor Ijaz.

The prime minister also said that Ijaz has always spoken negatively about Pakistan and its institutions and billions will not be spent for his security.

Gilani further said that the government is not waiting for Ijaz's arrival and he can decide himself whether he will come to Pakistan or not. Gilani also said that there is no need to highlight this issue in the media.

"Under the Constitution and under the system, it is the duty of the Ministry of Interior to provide him [Ijaz] with security," the prime minister stated.

Answering a question about Pak-US relations, Gilani said that the recommendations for the Pak-US relations will be discussed in the Parliament.
