QUETTA, Jan 22: Several areas of Balochistan remained cut off from Quetta because of the snowfall that continued in the central and northern parts of the province on the second consecutive day on Sunday.

The Met office has forecast snowfall and rain in different areas of the province for the next 24 to 36 hours.

Kalat, Mastung, Mongocher, Surab, Mach, Kolpur, Ziarat, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Toba Kakari, Qila Saifullah, Kan Mehterzai, Muslim Bagh and Toba Achakzai received heavy snowfall. Hundreds of vehicles coming from Punjab and Sindh stranded in these areas as roads were covered in layers of snow.

Hundreds of miners were also trapped in coalmine areas after roads to Marwar, Degari and Sourrang were closed.
