ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Rawalpindi on Thursday indicted Khurram Rasool, the former media coordinator of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, in a bank fraud case, DawnNews reported.

The court sentenced Rasool three years imprisonment and issued warrants for his arrest, while other four co-suspects get sentence of four year imprisonment and Rs 500,000 fine each.

The verdict was given by Justice Jandar Khan of accountability court no.3.

The suspects lent Rs 71.94 million from a private bank through fraud in 2009.

Bank officers Tariq, Rehan, Hasnain and Mukhtar Nasir were among convicts.
