HYDERABAD, Jan 30: The federal government has issued orders to reopen Sehwan airport and run an additional flight from Hyderabad to Karachi and Lahore every week, according to Pakistan People’s Party MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur.

The MNA said in statement issued here on Monday that airport would be reopened at his request after nine years and from February onwards, a weekly flight would be started from there to Karachi and Lahore.

The resumption of weekly flight would greatly facilitate devotees of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and also give a boost to inter-city trade and commerce, he said.He said that at a recent meeting of the National Assembly’s standing committee on defense, the director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority had assured him that repair of runway at Sehwan airport would be started and PIA managing director had assured both flights from Sehwan and Hyderabad airports would be launched within a month.—Bureau
