QUETTA, Jan 31: Six Frontier Corps personnel were killed and 13 others injured in clashes in Marwar area on Tuesday night.

Official sources told Dawn that some armed men opened fire on three FC checkposts in the Killi Pir Ismail area of Ziarat.

After receiving reports of the attack, an FC team, headed by Major Naveed, moved to the area. This team was also attacked.

In all, six troops were killed and 13 others injured.

The assailants escaped.

The injured were taken to the FC hospital in Quetta, where the condition of some of them was said to be serious.

The sources said that FC teams launched a search operation in the area.
