KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Wapda earned victories in the 59th National Hockey Championship at the Hockey Club of Pakistan here on Thursday.
SSGC edged out Navy 3-2. Two goals for the winners were scored by Shabbir Ahmed Khan (19th and 57th mins) as Mudassar Abbas (69th min) added another. Umer (36th min) and Khalid (48th min) reduced the margin for Navy.
PIA thrashed PHF Academy 5-1 with the goals for the winners coming from Yasir Islam (fifth min), Mohammad Zubair (19th min), Kashif Ali (50th and 70th min) and Ihsanullah (64th min).
The consolation goal for PHF Academy was scored by Mohammad Asif Iqbal (61st min).
Finally, Wapda outclassed Habib Bank Limited (HBL) 2-0. The goals were scored by Waseem Ahmed (42nd min) and Aleem Bilal (50th min).
