LAHORE: A woman suffering from heart ailment reportedly died in a private ambulance when it got struck in the traffic mess on Jail Road caused by protesting paramedics.

According to a local TV channel, the woman, later identified as Sakina Bibi, was being shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology from Mayo Hospital when she suffered a heart attack.

However, a source said the Mayo Hospital had no record of the patient’s admission or any initial treatment.

When contacted, Chief Traffic Officer Ahmad Mobeen also denied death of any woman during agitation on the Jail Road, saying that as he along with his subordinates remained on the protest venue for hours to supervise the traffic arrangements no such incident had occurred till evening.
