LAHORE: Reservation of a ‘mini’ economy class in the Business Express, the first non-stop train running between Punjab and Sindh capitals under public-private partnership, has begun.
Consisting of 24 berths and six seats, the economy class has been established in the brake van of the train inaugurated by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Feb 3.
Consisting of nine AC coaches, one each power, brake and luggage vans besides a dining car, the up train leaves Karachi City at 3:30pm and reach Lahore at 9:35am the next day, while the down special leaves Lahore at 3:30pm to reach Karachi City at 10am the next day, after technical stoppages at Khanewal and Rohri.
“The per berth fare will be Rs1,800 and per seat Rs1,500,” said M/s Four Brothers International (Pvt) Ltd Chief Operating Officer Ejaz Ahmad.
The reservation process is under way at the Business Lounge adjacent to Lahore Railways Station, Lahore Cantt Station and reservation centre at Railway headquarters besides through website: www.pakbusinessexpress.com by telephone.
The facility of home delivery of tickets is also available against a Rs100 courier fee in Lahore, while reservation facility in Karachi is available at Karachi Cantt Station, he said.
