KARACHI, Feb 17: Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah has announced a grant in aid of Rs500,000 for ailing former international boxer Jan Mohammad Baloch, who is suffering from cancer.

“These former sportsmen are assets of the country anddeserve proper attention from authorities concerned in this hour of need,” Dr Shah said in statement here on Friday.

“I have issued necessary orders to officials concerned to release a grant of Rs500,000 for Jan Baloch,” he said.

Last year, Jan Mohammad was presented a Legend Award for his services in fist-fighting as boxer and coach.—APP
