SIALKOT, Feb 17: The 28-km Daska-Pasrur Road is in dilapidated condition due to alleged slackness of officials and public representatives.

The road facilitates a large number of residents of Daska and Pasrur tehsils who have been facing great deal of difficulty in travelling between the two cities.

Prominent citizens have protested the situation and said that this road was constructed 20 years ago but no repair or maintenance was carried out thereafter and now it has converted into a strip dotted with three to four feet deep ditches, converting half of an hour journey into a painful exercise.

The lawlessness was adding to sufferings of motorists and locals, they added.

They said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Zahid Hamid (Pasrur) and Sahibzada Syed Murtaza Ameen (Daska) and MPAs Chaudhry Jamil Ashraf Baryar and Chaudhry Yahiya Gul Nawaz had made several promises regarding early construction of this road but to no avail.

They urged the chief minister, the commissioner and the district coordination officer to take serious notice of this situation and ensure reconstruction of this road at the earliest.
