A little known fact of history. when bhagat singh and his friends were caught there was no eye witnes and hence these people could't have been punished without corroborative evidence. So the govt: convienced 2 of its contrectors to give evidence against these people. they gave witness and bhagat singh, raj guru and sukhdev were punished and the two witnesses were handsomely rewaded including giving land and lucerative contracts to construct lutyens New Delhi. one of those people was Sir Sobha Singh father of the famous journalist khushwant singh. Other was sir shadi lal who settled in shamli near delhi and when shadi lal died no shopkeeper in the town even sold their family the shroud(KAFAN).

It is very encoraginging to know that sacrifices and contributions made by various people to attain independence are appreciated on both sides of the boarder, The sacrifices that Shahid Bhagat Singh and other made should be shared with the young generation.

Definitly, new generation ought to know the heroes who served to give independence to the today's generation. This will inculcate pride in themselves.

bhagat singh was most r enlightened man on earth ,majority of people became martyr by mistake, but he was real martyr who became by choice, which is never seen in indian history, lot of people became baagi,,revolter but he was real fighter to his heart, he was real humanist against suppression, aggression and exploitation, he was real revolutionary, but alaas, majority of people are so illiterate they forget them and even didnot read his last lines of why am i an atheist, which changed my life, he was so bold, courageous man,,he shown to wolrd, but sorry to say, indian masses still remained ignorant and lost the value of its greatest thinker, philosopher and martyr,,since history human being is taken by ride by ignorance, illiteracy and hypocrisy of ruling class,

To Bhupinder. Religion to us Sikhs and Muslims is a very delicate and touchy subject. No where in Punjab will your hear that Bhagat Singh was not a practicing Sikh, and that he did not belief in God of any form or any religion.False hopes and emotions is what they believe in .Who are we to pour cold water on them.He is dead and gone.Let his legend live as people believe. It makes no difference.

Can you substantiate your comment with some documentary references ?

Are you telling me that Bhagat Singh was caught by his own choice? Obviously he couldn't be a martyr otherwise.

Kudos to the KTN collective which staged Bhata Singh and audience which braved the winds of intolerance sweeping the sub-continent. The ideas of humanity, equality and social justice were embedded in his thoughts and actions.

lala lajpat rai was the real reason that brought bhagat singh to the forefront.Lajpat rai was a patriot killed by lathi blows by the british during a protest .bhagat singh swore at lalaji's feet and was fortunate to have a fearless commander chandra shekhar azad and friends like rajguru and sehdev.the real courage was to throw a bomb in the parliament not to kill but to tell the british that the indian tiger was awake and to voluntarily court arrest without attempt to flee.this was to inspire others to rise up againts the colonials.still brings atear to every indians eye.chandrashekhar azad was killed fighting the british in a park all alone.

I am simply glad and encouraged after years of bitterness and uninformed suspicion it is possible for us to know that in Pakistan a martyr who belongs to all of us has been remembered. May God by whatever name we know him give us more understanding and compassion for each other.
