SUKKUR, Dec 3: Dissidents of the People’s Party Parliamentarians are in touch with the PPP (Patriots) and they will join them soon, Federal State Minister Khalid Lund claimed on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Sukkur Airport, Khalid called upon the political parties to adopt a positive approach for formation of a viable government in Sindh, warning that if they failed to do so, governor rule might be imposed on the province

He predicted that the PPP forward bloc would play a vital role in the future, adding that the deadlock at the Centre had been broken by the forward bloc.

The minister said that so far he had not received any notice from the PPP high command.

He said that they wanted to make the PPP a real democratic party, adding that they wanted to recapture the party, which had been hijacked by what he called the Qabza group.

Praising President Gen Pervez Musharraf for announcing a package for women, he said that it would go a long way to improve the condition of the women in th country.

Urging the PPP to adopt a realistic view on the Legal Framework Order, Khalid said that the elections were held under the LFO.

Expressing the hope for a positive outcome of the government’s talks with the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, he said that talks with the MMA were in progress.

Meanwhile, the chief organizer of the Pakistan Muslim League(F), Shaikh Sirajuddin, also expressed the fear of imposition of governor rule in Sindh if the political parties failed to evolve a consensus on forming a government in the province.

He was speaking at an Iftar dinner here on Tuesday.

Urging the political parties to evolve a joint strategy in this regard, he said they would be equally responsible if governor rule was imposed on Sindh.

He said that the Sindh Democratic Alliance had been formed to weaken the PPP in Sindh therefore there could be no possibility of coopera-tion between the SDA and the PPP.

Earlier, MNA Khurshid Afghan said that Pir Pagara would soon reorganize the PML(F) and deserving party workers need not worry about being accorded due status in the party.

She announced formation of a committee to redress the workers’ problems at Sukkur level.
