KARACHI, March 18: Nishtar Club and Karachi Basketball Club (KBBC) won their matches on the opening day of the Pakistan Day Inter-club basketball tournament which commenced at the Kashmir Road court on Sunday.

Ali and Haroon shared 22 points between them as Nishtar Club came from behind to register 47-37 victory over Gulshan Hawks. Nishtar trailed 20-25 at the half time. Talha Amjad contributed seven for winners.

Mahad and Idrees were outstanding for losers with 10 and 9 respectively.

Akmal Jamil guided KBBC to an easy 46-31 victory over Neighbourhood Juniors in the second match. Akmal led the team from the front scoring 21. He was supported by Abdullah Imam (8).
