ISLAMABAD: Radio Pakistan will broadcast a special music concert “Malika-e-Ghazal” on Saturday to pay tribute to legendary Ghazal singer Farida Khanum.

The concert, to be held at the lawns of Radio Pakistan Lahore, will be broadcast live by all of its FM-101, FM-93, and MW stations as well as National Broadcasting Service, the current affairs channel of Radio Pakistan, from 2:10 p.m,said a press release Friday.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan will be the chief guest while renowned poet and former Punjab Chief Secretary Javed Qureshi and DG Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi will be the guests of honour.

Renowned intellectuals, musicians, and experts, including Shahzad Ahmed, Muneeza Hashmi, Ahmed Aqeel Rubi, Yasmin Tahir, Khalid Sherzai, and Ustad Badr-uz-Zaman will throw light on the life and services of the great singer.

The programme will be compered by famous artist Shujaat Hashmi and renowned singers, including Hamid Ali Khan, Fareeha Pervaiz, Hussain Bakhsh Gullu, Rubina Qureshi, Ali Abbas, Ijaz Qaiser, Shujaat Ali Khan, Sara Raza, and Habib Ali, will entertain the audience and the listeners.
