KARACHI, April 18: Korangi Baloch (Sharafi) eased past struggling FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) with a whooping 6-0 score line to confirm a place in the semi-finals of the ninth Karachi United Football League (KUFL) at the Korangi Baloch Stadium here on Tuesday evening.

The KUFL Super League encounter was a totally one-sided affair. Korangi Baloch were on the offensive from the very start. They went 1-0 up just before halftime with a goal from Aqeel Ahmed from a Zain ul Abideen pass.

Korangi Baloch then went 2-0 up when Mohammad Saeed scored in the 52nd minute before Abdul Hafeez made it 3-0 in the 61st minute.

Matters were made worse for Rovers after they were down to eight men in four minutes (76th to 80th minute) when there was a red card galore for captain Ammar Sharif, Arif Shahzad and Usama Noor for misbehaving and fighting with referee Yousaf Mansoori. This allowed Korangi Baloch to score three more times with Rovers’ goalkeeper Mohammad Junaid being out of position for the rest of the match. Aqeel Ahmed (82nd min), Abdul Wahid (88th min) and Abdul Hafeez (89th min) completed the 6-0 rout for Korangi Baloch.

Taking note of the match referee’s report about the conduct of the players, match commissioner H.M. Hanif has requested District Football Administration (DFA) Malir to take strict disciplinary action against the misbehaving players.

Meanwhile, home side Korangi Baloch finished their Super League quota of seven matches with 12 points to reach the final four stage.

The match was supervised by referees Yousaf Mansoori, Babar Khan and Ahmed Mian.
