KARACHI, April 21: Basil Hashim and Umer Rawasia’s hat-tricks propelled Sindh Medical College (SMC) to thrashed Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) 8-0 in the 10th AKU Inter-University Football Tournament at the AKU Football Ground on Saturday.

Basil Hashim scored in the 19th, 29th and 32nd minutes and Umer Rawasia got his goals in the 22nd, 25th and 47th minutes as Saad Hasan (24th min) and Mirza Asad (42nd min) added one each for the winners.

In another one-sided encounter PAF-Karachi Institute of Engineering and Technology (PAF-KIET) beat Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LMCD) 6-1. Aminuddin scored a hat-trick in the 35th, 37th and 39th minutes while Ismail Javed (fourth min), Asadullah (30th min) and Waqas Ilyas (51st min) added three more to the winners’ tally. Saad Shahid (44th min) reduced the margin for the losing side.

Finally, Ziauddin University (ZU) beat Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) 2-0 with both the goals coming from Asad Sheikh in the third and 45th minutes.

The matches were supervised by referees Mohammad Arsalan, Ansar Javed, Noor ul Haq, Mohammad Tahir, Abdul Aziz and Hameed-ur-Rehman with Sajjad Akbar as the official scorer and Munawar Khan the match commissioner.—Sports Reporter
