THIS is with reference to the article ‘A giant in decline’ (April 9). I fully support the suggestions put forward by the writer for the revival of Radio Pakistan — a public service state organ.

It is time to inject the much-needed funds to pull the organisation out of its financial crunch and help it to conceive quality programmes for the good of society at large.

Radio is the most powerful medium of communication and information.

The major advantage it has over all other sources is that you don’t have to put aside your routine task to tune in to radio broadcast.

The sound waves keep on penetrating whether one is on the move, in the office, at home or on the field; most importantly it is inexpensive. Efforts should be made for Radio Pakistan to regain its past glory as an infotainment provider to the rich and the poor, and the urban and rural populace alike.
