LAHORE, April 29: The local government department has got about 60 building inspectors recruited through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) for the first time in the history of the department.

“The department has done this to ensure appointments on merit to facilitate the public at large,” department’s secretary Khizer Hayat Gondal said this while speaking at a concluding ceremony of the newly-recruited officials departmental training at the Punjab Municipality Development Fund Company here on Sunday.

He directed the officials to serve the people with dedication and honesty and never compromise on merit while performing their duties.

Later, Mr Gondal also distributed certificates among inspectors for completing the departmental training.
