LAHORE, April 30: Chief Minister’s Adviser Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan has refused to give a two-year period to the Water and Sanitation Agency managing director for the completion of sewerage work on Multan Road, directing him to accomplish the task before the rainy season.
“It is a very important task and the government wants its completion (sewerage work) as soon as possible,” Mr Hassan directed the Wasa MD while presiding over a meeting held here on Monday to review the on-going remaining work on Multan Road. Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik was also present.
Mr Hassaan directed the authorities concerned to accomplish the work as per international standards and specification to save the road from any sewerage problem in the future.
The commissioner directed the officials to accelerate the pace of work and complete the widening and improvement of roads on the remaining portions/stretches of Multan Road by working 24 hour a day.
LABOUR FLATS: A meeting chaired by the commissioner decided on Monday to allot flats (Labour Colony, Defence Road) to the elderly industrial and registered workers (between 50 and 60 years) at the ground floor.
The commissioner said the departments concerned had so far short-listed 99 workers for allotment letters to be given by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in a ceremony being held on Tuesday (today).
