On Friday April 27, police launched an armed operation against banned outfits of Lyari. The clashes between police and culprits claimed the lives of many high profile police officers and ordinary people while also wounding dozens of residents. However the area is now relatively calm after the ceasefire of 48 hours. A look at what Lyari was like during the operation. - Photos by Hussain Afzal, text by Suhail Yusuf
