KARACHI, May 5: Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi acquainted herself with the operational significance of Pakistan Navy’s bases at Ormara and Gwadar during a two-day visit to these bases.

She was given briefing about the naval bases at Gwadar and Ormara, according to a media release by the ISPR (Navy). Rear Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi, Commander Coast, accompanied the defence secretary during her visit.

Nargis Sethi visited navy ship Zulfiqar and took a trip onboard PNS Jurrat at Ormara.

She also visited the naval hospital PNS Darmaan Jah, Bahria School at Ormara and welfare centres at both naval Stations aimed at he community welfare of the people of Balochistan, particularly those living along the coastal belt.

During her visit to community welfare projects, she lauded the role of Pakistan Navy and reiterated the need to expand these facilities to Pasni, Jiwani and Turbat, where Pakistan Navy has a sizable presence.

During her stay at Ormara, she was briefed about the future project of Pakistan Navy Cadet College at Ormara and the ongoing work at Bahria College there.

The defence secretary assured the Commander Coast of support for timely completion of educational, health and welfare projects.
