Meeting held in President house to discuss Lyari operation

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that help from the constitution should be taken to address the current political situation of the country. The Constitution's supremacy and political stability should be upheld, he added, DawnNews reported.

Meeting with the senators of Awami National Party (ANP) in the President house on Wednesday, the president conveyed to them his gratitude for their unswerving support as coalition partner to the government of Prime Minister Gilani and for its contributions towards political stability and upholding rule of law.

President Zardari said said that the political wisdom and maturity displayed by the coalition partners of the government while dealing with all the challenges in the way of our forward march was really commendable.

Moreover he said said that the reform process in FATA will continue in consultation with the people of the tribal areas and all stakeholders. He said that meaningful political reforms in tribal areas will be doable and durable only when these have the backing of the people of FATA.”
