Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib are producing a movie based on the life of Shahid Khan Afridi, who requires no introduction. Movies based on sports have gained much popularity in the sub-continent after the success of “Chak De! India”. Previously a UK-based filmmaker Faisal Aman Khan, made a movie based on the life of cricketer turned politician Imran Khan.
“Main Hun Shahid Afridi” is a movie which entails the struggles and achievements of a simple boy who made it big in cricket through sheer determination and hard work.
According to Saeed, producer of the movie, more than 50 per cent of the movie has been completed. The movie has been shot at popular stadiums in Karachi and Sialkot through support from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“Main Hun Shahid Afridi” is being directed by Osman Ali Raza and Saeed himself will star as a coach in the movie. Lead role is being played by a 19-year-old boy called Noman Habib, who himself is an aspiring cricketer. However, Afridi himself will not make any appearance in the movie.

I hope they also show the other side of Afridi where he was using his spikes in the pitch in England and the famous ball biting incident that happened in Australia. He is a good cricketer and if a film is made on him, then everything should be included. That will be fair.

In Pakistan he is a king cricketer. No question about it. People love seeing him, he plays for them. He hit sixes for them and take wickets. He is a very popular in some other parts of the world as well. The movie is being made for Pakistani audience, not for Australian or English media.

Although Shahid Afridi's character, demeanor and qualities are different to Imran Khan's, they are both born leaders and fantastic role models for Pakistani youth. I hope Shahid Afridi joins Tehreek-i-Insaaf after he retires from cricket.

A decade ago when Pakistani dramas really started to decline the production houses of Humayun Saeed and Abdullah Kadwani played a very significant role in ensuring that by churning out third class dramas one after another out of their production house. Now with no film industry in sight in Pakistan Mr. Humayon is again after commercial 'shortcuts' rather than bringing out the real stories from a country affected by terrorism, inflation, injustice and a plethora of social issues. So as for Humayon Saeed there's nothing to be expected from his new venture as his theatrical whim of disguise is quite often associated with disaster in his stories.

Well everyone, guess what, by all your comments summarised Afridi is the poster child for T20 cricket, i mean think about it, he was told and its also obvious that he is not a test cricketer, he does not have the patience to bat out in a 50 over match, and viola, a new byproduct of T-20 cricket gets introduced in the world. now does anyone comment when players get out on playing rash shots in the newer format of the game? the answer is no :)
yes i also agree shahid afridi should have shown much better results in one dayers and he has been playing since 2006, but in actual fact he is one of the pioneers of have the ICC think about an ever shorter format and making cricket popular among non-cricketing nations.

For me now cricket is not a thing of interest after last worldcup semifinal, even after all the poor performances by all players including Misbah, Afridi would have changed the match but he didn't infact he was worst, just like others Afridi also sold the worldcup semi final to India and that will remain a real shame for Pakistani cricket ever. We needed him for matches like that not for useless sixes and wickets when we don't want them. I hope one day we'll have a cricketer like Imran Khan again, but I like his cricket only.

Oh man; its we who spoil sports man and make them to think they are god and they can do what ever they want.
For people who said its him who change the game so answer is NO its Jayasuriya who started playing aggressive in 1st 10 overs and than every one follows him.
Please there are more heroes in our country than this guy......... I love to watch movie like Imran Khan, Miandad, Waseem Akram... there are more old ones but these guys are from my era..
No offence to any one just take it positive; we need players who can perform all the time not just to make them hero and they disrespect every one.

Humayun Syeed has LOST HIS MIND. If he had made a movie on Imran Khan's new political career,I would be the first one to watch his movie. I don't understand what are Afridi's achivements in cricket apart from hitting fastest century. Cricketing world considers him an average cricketer and the fact is that he's an average cricketer who never had the temprament to play tough Test cricket. This movie is bound to be a flop.
