CHARSADDA, May 16: Five people of a family were killed when roof of their house collapsed here in Shabqadar late on Tuesday night.

Giving details, residents said that two daughters of ANP leader Zahiruddin were present in the house along with their children when roof of a room they were sitting in collapsed at around 10:00pm, burying them alive.

The deceased were identified as wife of Mohammad Tariq, wife of Mohammad Tahir and their small children, including Attiqa, Bareera and Maryam. Wife of Mr Zahiruddin also sustained injuries.

Local people retrieved bodies from the rubble. The deceased were laid to rest amid moving scenes on Wednesday.

BORAD ACTION: Chairman and controller examinations of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, have taken strong notice of misconduct of a candidate with superintendent in examination hall of government girls’ high school, Gubahar.

According to a board press release, a case of unfair means had been registered against the girl student for allegedly tearing apart answer sheet and exchange of hot words with the superintendent.

The statement said that all unfair means cases, including cheating, threatening invigilating staff or influencing examiners, would be dealt with sternly and according to the rules.

The superintendent has lodged an FIR against the accused student.
