ISLAMABAD, May 26: More than two hundred and twenty five players from across the country will compete in the Vigo Champ Subh-e-Nau National Tennis, beginning from Sunday at the Islamabad Club Tennis Courts.
Giving details of the high-profile event Shahida Kausar Farooq, chairperson Subh-e-Nau said it will be a good opportunity for the players to showcase their talent.
Flanked by Yasir Niazi, Resident Director Indus Toyota Motors and Dr Farrukh Chishtie, Shahida announced that a handsome prize purse of rupees five hundred thousand will be on offer at the tournament.
Responding to a question, she said her organisation has kept away from petty politics because “we believe that sports promotion is a mission which requires hardwork and dedication.”
Shehzad Akhtar Alvi, tournament referee, took out the draws of qualifying rounds for men’s singles and boys’ juniors U-18. The matches will start at 8:30am.—Agencies
