KARACHI, May 30: President Asif Ali Zardari approved on Wednesday the appointment of Justice Umar Ata Bandial of Lahore High Court as the Chief Justice of the LHC. He also approved the elevation of LHC Chief Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed as a Judge of the Supreme Court.

President’s spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said the appointments had been made on the advice of the prime minister.

The prime minister advised the president after the Judicial Commission’s nominations had been endorsed by the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment of Judges.
