KARACHI, June 9: Saad Noor Sumar beat Nazif Ahmed straight 6-3, 6-1 to qualify for the men’s singles main draw in the fourth Maroof Trophy ranking tennis tournament at the DA Central Club on Saturday.

He will be joined by the winner of Malik Hamza and Hamza Pataudi on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Rafay Hafiz and Farzan Azher earned a place in the juniors’ under-17 main round.

Men’s singles:

Qualifying round two: Hamza Pataudi bt Abdullah Khan 6-0, 6-2. Qualifying round three: Saad Noor Sumar bt Nazif Ahmed 6-3, 6-1; Malik Hamza bt Rafay Hafeez (walkover); Hamza Pataudi bt Shahbaz Malik 6-3, 6-0.

Juniors’ under-17 singles:

Final qualifying round: Rafay Hafiz bt Wania 6-0, 6-1.

Under-15 singles:

Qualifying round two: M Ameer Hamza bt Romman Shoaib (walkover); Hamza Ashfaq bt Mazhar Sultan 8-5.

Under-13 singles:

Qualifying round two: Haman Ashok bt Rayan Imran 8-3; Saad M Ali bt Zubair 8-4; M Ameer Hamza bt Hamza Ashfaq 8-7; Abdullah Khan bt M Saad Khan 8-4.

Under-11 singles:

Qualifying round two: Abdullah Imran bt Rayyan Jawad 8-2; Rayyan Imran bt Raza Kazim 8-4; Parbad bt Mustafa Haider 8-0. Final qualifying round: Rayyan Imran bt Abdullah Imran 8-6.
