Musharraf to open forum on water today

ISLAMABAD, Dec 13: President Gen Pervez Musharraf will inaugurate the Second South Asia Water Forum here on Saturday.

The forum, being organized by the Pakistan Water Partnership in collaboration with the water and power ministry, will discuss groundwater problems.

The theme of Sawaf-2 is to draw international attention to groundwater issues, in addition to addressing other issues such as food and environment, dams and development; and water institutions and governance.

A session has been reserved for the Associated Programmes in which representatives from 40 countries will participate.—APP
