Makhdoom Muhammad Ameen Faheem is the Minister of Commerce.

Born August 4, 1939, Faheem received his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1961. His father, Makhdoom Muhammmad Zaman, was one of the founding members of the PPP in 1967 and the spiritual leader of Sarwari Jammat of Pakistan.

His foray in politics began in 1970 and since then Faheem has served twice as a federal minister during Benazir Bhutto’s tenure. He was Communications Minister from December 1988 to August 1990, Railways Minister from December 1988 to March 1989 and served as Minister for Housing and Works from January 1994 to November 1996. He is currently a senior member of the Pakistan People’s Party for which he serves as senior vice-chairman and its head in the Parliament. He was appointed Minister of Commerce in 2012.
