Five die in drone strike

MIRAMSHAH, June 26: Five Taliban were killed and two others were injured when missiles fired by a US drone hit a residential compound used by militants in the border area in Shawal tehsil of North Waziristan on Tuesday night.

Local people said the drone fired two missiles at around 8.45pm, destroying the house and a car parked in the house.

They said that five Taliban had been killed and two injured. Area people rushed to the place and retrieved the bodies from the wreckage.

It was the sixth drone attack in North Waziristan this month, claiming 35 lives so far.
